The two redheads were sprawled across the arms of the scarlet chair in the Gryffindor common room, with only embers to witness the scene. They were an unlikely pair, considering their past, but, for tonight, they were united in a common goal - both were waiting for the same person, and she was running very late, even allowing for her voracious academic pursuits.
No doubt, the truce would end once the portrait hole creaked open. Until then, the cat purred and flicked his ear. ---------- Ron and Crooks for both  's request (for being my 200th Watcher) as well as the Bloody Hell Showdown. I love killing two birds with one stone!  I imagine that under all that gruff stupidity, Ron cares very deeply about the folks close to him. I think that if Hermione were to walk in on this scene, he'd be all "Gerroff me, you ruddy cat!" and Crooks will be all "Well, I was only using you for the body heat anyway". Males are so silly. Kisses and cuddles to Jim who made the gradients look AMAZING in the gifs and managed to get the file size down to 32kb with his optimization wizardry!
